THE CUTTESLOWE HELEN HAMLYN HEALTHY AGEING HUB FOR SENIORS

The Helen Hamlyn Cutteslowe Healthy Ageing Hub for Seniors is an exciting new initiative designed to support older people to live healthier, more independent lives within their community.
The hub is a strong collaboration between Oxford University who developed the research of the Elderly People’s Integrated Care System (EPICS), The Helen Hamlyn Trust who have generously supported this project, and local community partners Cutteslowe Connected Church and Summertown Clinic.
As our population ages, increasing pressure on health and social care systems has highlighted the need for a more preventative, community-based approach. The Hub responds to this challenge by creating a welcoming, local space where older adults can access support, build connections, and maintain their wellbeing.
At the heart of the Hub is a strong collaboration with key local partners. Cutteslowe Connected Church, a local community focused church of England Church plant, lead the partnership and have employed a Parish Nurse to help set up the hub. Summertown Clinic (link) complements this by offering over 45 years of experience in patient-centred healthcare, providing a wide range of therapies—from osteopathy and physiotherapy to mental health and nutritional support—delivered through a holistic, compassionate approach.
Together, these partnerships enable the Hub to deliver a joined-up, person-centred model of care. Underpinning the Hub is a simple but powerful idea: that healthy ageing is shaped by everyday factors. Our work focuses on six key areas
By strengthening these within the Cutteslowe community, we aim to help people stay well for longer and delay the need for more intensive care.
The Cutteslowe Healthy Ageing Hub is more than a service—it is a community space where people can connect, access support, and thrive. By working together, we are building a healthier, more resilient future for ageing well in Cutteslowe.
